What is Beam?
Beam is a cryptocurrency developed based on the MimbleWimble protocol and is highly privacy, alternative and extensible. All Beam transactions are private by default. The new node joins the network without synchronizing the entire transaction history, and can request synchronization to include only the compression history and block headers of the system state, thus achieving fast synchronization.
Beam is an attempt to implement MimbleWimble's new currency, which was written from scratch in C++. Compared to Grin, Grin's total tokens are unlimited, while Beam tokens have limited supply and halved recurring returns.
